Happy October 1st! Oh my goodness my favorite time of the year is FINALLY here. I just love it. All of my favorite holidays are about to happen. I think I love Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas so much because it’s all about spending time with family. There is just something so wonderful in going over to your parents house, wearing chunky sweaters and thick socks, and drinking hot cider while it’s cold outside. The pumpkin patch is out in our neighborhood too. Which makes my heart so happy! I am looking forward to recovering from my surgery ASAP so that I can go on walks with my husband and the dogs. I just blogged all about my surgery HERE in case you missed it!

It has been operation C O Z Y over here! We have our fall decor out and have been making soup and chili! It is still that perfect temperature outside where you can keep all the windows open and bundle up in sweatshirts and sweatpants.

One evening (pre-surgery!) I made us delicious salmon with roasted veggies and rice cooked in bone broth. I cooked up extra rice and bone broth to eat before my surgery too!

There have been several evenings spent on the front porch with a hot cup of tea, fall-themed cookies, and a good book! I finished this book in a day it was so good! My sister turned me on to the author Mariana Zapata. When I am not reading personal development books, I love a good romance book. Mariana Zapata has some of the best ones! My favorite is still “The Wall of Winnipeg”.

My sweet husband spoiled me in the thick of my recovery. He made me pancakes and scrambled eggs one morning 🙂

More reading on the front porch! I have been slowly working my way through “The Elimination of Hurry” because it’s just too good!! It is packed with great information on getting closer to Jesus. I didn’t want to rush through it . Instead I have been savoring it! I will definitely be reading this book again! We also made a delicious turkey vegetable soup that we have been munching on for days.

I had a doctors appointment this past week to check on my incision. Leon and I split a Q breakfast sandwich on our way to the appointment. After my appointment we picked up some mums and pumpkins and then it was straight back home to ice my incision, eat some fruit, and drink hot tea!

Friday morning I was back at the cafe!! I felt pretty useless since I couldn’t do very much but work the register. I ended up being in way too much pain and had to get straight back home. Luckily I have an amazing sister and wonderful employees who have been doing an excellent job of holding down the fort!

I spent the rest of Friday icing my incision, drinking hot tea, eating soup, and spending time with the dogs! I hope you all are enjoying the beginnings of Fall!! Have a wonderful weekend pretty people 🙂
