Happy Sunday! The rain is pouring down right now and we have oatmeal cookies baking in the oven. It’s so peaceful in our house right now. This blog post is basically filled with pictures of Owen… who I am looking at right now laying at my feet. He truly is the best little guy! Well, not-so-little-guy! But let’s recap this past week shall we?
There has obviously been a lot of quality time with Owen going down. He is just so darn cute!
Last Sunday I really had it together and meal planned for the whole week. Well, its Sunday again now and I just don’t have the energy to think about meal planning again. I feel like the week went by in a blur! A few of our go-to dinners each week is some kind of Mexican inspired meal with ground beef or turkey, rice, beans, and guacamole! This past week I made quinoa instead of rice and it was delicious. We ate on this meal for about 3 days! I had mine with plantain chips each time and Leon had his stuffed into a tortilla.
I haven’t been walking as much as usual and opting for quick, 30 minute workouts in my living room instead. Owen hasn’t really been on walks either with the crazy heat we had this summer. We finally went on a walk last week! It was short and sweet since it was hotter than I thought but we still did it! 🙂
Friday night my sweet husband took me on a date! We NEVER do anything. Not in a bad way. We just love having date-nights at home. But we branched out Friday! We went to our favorite spot, Pub by Novo, and had every intention of going to a concert in the park afterwards. After sipping on half of my drink, I was ready for bed. I am a terrible lightweight! But my drink was so good and refreshing! It was called the “Sprtiz”! We ended up going to get pints of ice cream and heading home to watch a show. It was the perfect date night! We always have fun together and he truly is my best friend.
Saturday was a VERY long day at work but very rewarding. I feel blessed where God has me and the business right now! I was more than ready to lie on the couch when I got home. We ended up watching a little bit of our show and then going for a bike ride!
Once we got back from our bike ride I whipped us up a random dinner… mini pizzas on baguettes with pesto chickpea pasta, chicken sausage, and squash. Luckily this made a lot so we can eat some for dinner tonight as well 🙂
This morning the dogs were not going to let me sleep in so I got up early to let them out, sip on some coffee, and read my bible. After my coffee I had a chocolate peanut butter energy ball and got in a 45 minute workout. I couldn’t have done it without my favorite workout buddy! After my workout it was off to church!
And that’s all I have for now! Just typing out a blog post already lifted my spirits a bit! I hope you have a restful week!! P.S. If you could say a prayer for my brother and his little dog Ollie that would be great. Little Ollie is not doing so great! THANK YOU. <3
