Hi there! Guess what? I’m back! I am actually keeping my promise and sitting down to blog about our mini-moon to Siesta Keys, FL. We had a WONDERFUL time together. I got to step away from the cafe for a few days and Leon got to step away from his job. It was so nice to be able to spend quality time together without worrying about the stress of work. This was also Leon’s FIRST time EVER on a plane. I was so glad I got to experience that with him 🙂 We woke up SUPER early to catch our fight in Nashville. I had a momentary panic when I realized on the way to the airport that I had booked my flight under my married name and my license still says my maiden name. Luckily I had my marriage certificate with us just in case. Southwest was SO NICE about it. I was freaking out for no reason! So anyways, once we got through security I grabbed juice and a coffee and then we were ready to board!

Our flight was SUPER short! We both just read our books the whole time. I didn’t think about the fact that we wouldn’t be able to check in until the afternoon so once we landed in Sarasota, we had a few hours to kill. We stopped for brunch at Sun Garden Cafe and mistakingly sat outside. It was too darn hot and humid to eat anything. I had a few bites of everything and it was tasty! Does anyone else lose their appetite when they’re hot?

And then we killed some more time by drinking daiquiris in the heat at Daiquiri Deck! We LOVED this place. We are both not big drinkers but we were loving the frozen daiquiris. They had SO MANY options to choose from too! My favorite was the peach frose.

We finally checked into our AirBnB and Leon was cracking me up with how much he loved all the tropical plants around us. We stayed at the cutest little place that within walking distance to everything. We immediately changed into our swimsuits and walked to the beach. We got a little lost at first but finally made it 🙂

Each night we were there we would walk to the beach to see the sunset! It was SO PEACEFUL and beautiful. Watching the waves and seeing the sun set always makes me wonder how anyone could not believe in God. It is just so beautiful to see!

One night we had ice cream as we walked to see the sunset! I don’t remember where we got the ice cream at but it was super tasty. Leon got cotton candy. COTTON. CANDY. I was not a fan but he loved it! Haha!

One night after a very long day at the beach, we went out to eat. Leon had the freshest fish he had ever eaten since it was caught that day and I had a very sub-par meal. We got slightly tipsy on local beer and laughed a lot. It was wonderful. I sure love this man!

Another day at the beach! We would wake up, drink coffee, spend all day at the beach, and either go out to eat or eat at the Air BnB. We both got SO sunburnt. One night Leon made us steak and i made mac n cheese. We ended every night with popcorn and m&m’s while watching our show 🙂

I LOVED reading on the beach. When we got too hot we would go cool off in the water. I had never experienced water that was so clear and warm.

One day I stopped at a cute little cafe to grab some healthier eats for the beach. I tried an acai bowl and it was really good! I loved the homemade caramel sauce on top. This was from Nutritious You cafe!

Our last night was the best! We were both soooo sunburnt! So we snuggled up early since it was raining, ordered pizza, at the entire pizza, and watched our show. I feel so thankful I married someone who loves staying in as much as I do! This was my favorite night we had!

And then the next morning we were on an early flight home! It was a short trip but SO WONDERFUL! We missed our dogs and our routine but I feel blessed we got take a mini-moon away from all responsibilities!
Loved reading about your mini-moon! It looked amazing! Thanks for sharing. ❤ Margriet
