I am currently writing about our last snow day while our community prepares for ANOTHER round of winter weather this weekend! Craziness. I guess I should probably hit up Kroger and stock up on the essentials… not bread and eggs and milk. I’m talking coffee and half n’ half. The REAL essentials.

Anywho! Lettuce back up to last week and this past weekend! Leon and I got snowed in and it was AWESOME! We took a walk through our local park when the snow really started coming down! All of this snow accumulated within 2 hours and just kept going into the evening. It was magical!

We spent the day snuggled up on our couch eating chicken noodle soup and binge watching Ted Lasso. We absolutely LOVED season 1! We loved parts of the beginning to season 2 and then we started hating it…I don’t know. I am such a “feel-good” type of show person that eventually Ted Lasso no longer made me feel good. We both ended up feeling crappy after watching it. Such a weird thing to explain but we are no longer fans! Apparently we are the only ones who feel that way because I took a poll on Instagram and 100% of people said they LOVED season 2. LOL We still stand by our opinion!

Saturday night Leon took me on a surprise birthday date! We have made it a tradition to gift new experiences/adventures for each birthday! It felt nice to get all dolled-up after spending a few days in my PJs.

First we started off with dinner at The Bistro. We parked across the street in the health department parking lot! WHERE WE FELL IN LOVE! We would spend so much time in this parking lot, not able to say goodbye to each other after working. This is also where we said “I love You” for the first time. I can’t believe I get to call this guy my HUSBAND next month!

Dinner at The Bistro did NOT disappoint!

I got the salmon linguine and Leon got the pork chop. It was delicious and heavenly per usual!

And then it was off to my SURPRISE! I had NO idea where Leon was taking me. It was so exciting!

He ended up getting us pottery lessons at True Fables Pottery downtown. Oh my goodness! We seriously had the BEST time! The owner, Ryan, kept us laughing the whole time and we made some pretty cool pieces! They should be ready around the time we get married next month and we are so excited to see how they turned out! I made an oatmeal bowl (obviously!) and Leon made a plant potter.

And then we headed to The Kentucky Grand Hotel for coffee and a slice of Derby Pie! We were both so ready to get home to our dogs! Thank you Leon for making my birthday so darn special 🙂

I forgot to snap any pictures but Sunday night my parents made me a special birthday dinner of tacos and margaritas!

Monday morning I had to juice but I treated myself to my current favorite breakfast sandwich at Spencer’s coffee. I just realized we spent most of my birthday supporting local businesses – NICE! <3

And then we ended my actual birthday-day in the best way – with turkey and vegetable soup, bread, and Schitt’s Creek. What a wonderful birthday it was! I am so excited for year 26 on this earth! The cafe is opening soon, Leon is going to be my husband, and who knows what else! All I know is, God is GOOD! Thanks for stopping by the blog today!
