As Kacey Musgraves would beautifully sing: “Let me set the sceneeeeee…” Please tell me you have heard her new song?! If not, go listen. And then sing the very first line as you begin this blog post. So, let me set the scene for ya…

I am currently making granola. It is my preferred form of cardio on this hot and humid Saturday. It has been A WEEK. A good one, a crazy one, and an emotional one. All good things though, because our God is GOOD. Before I fill you in on all the details, lettuce rewind to last weekend!

Sweet Leon and I had a date night at Blaze Pizza! It was pretty darn tasty if I do say so myself. I really enjoyed my salad as well! Salads are so much better in the summer time. We ended up getting the chicken pesto pizza and it was a great choice! All Friday evenings should involve pizza.

After pizza, we ended up meeting up with some friends at a bar downtown. We stayed out until 1:00 am..this is basically unheard of for us. I was the DD so I chugged club soda most of the night. My body was VERY thankful the next day. I had to be up early to meet my friend Emma for coffee. In case you don’t follow me on social media…I purchased Zest Juice from her!! We are so excited about the new adventure. Emma and her husband have been so kind and helpful to me during this process! Again, more on that later. But if you want to watch our announcement video: click here!
I was very, very sleepy. But I the excitement outweighed the sleepiness 🙂

Sunday was all about my sweet, sweet brother! He turned 23 🙂 We spent the day celebrating him! We went golfing, enjoyed homemade chicken fettuccine alfredo, salad, bread, and CAKE 🙂 I got to ride around in the gold cart with my dad all day since we are both lefties! Turns out, I really, really, REALLY, and I do mean REALLY, suck at golf.

Monday was my very last day at the health department as I start my new adventure of being a SMALL BUSINESS OWNER!!! It was a bittersweet day. I already miss my boss Cally. She is the bestest!! I am thankful for everyone on the population health team who got me this little gift too 🙂

For dinner I made a hodge-podge salad with chicken and a healthier ranch dressing.

CAN YOU EVEN?! What would my blog even be if I didn’t include the most handsome pictures of Owen?! I adore him so much!

I had another HUGE salad for dinner! You know what I ALWAYS forget to snap a picture of?! What I eat after dinner! LOLOLOL. I have been ending most nights with a chocolate protein shake and either peanut butter cereal or my homemade granola!

One night I did a workout in the living room! I sweat at-home workouts leave me more drenched then workouts in the gym. I also made Leon and I a loaded turkey and vegetable marinara over bean pasta one night!I It turned out so yummy!
Peep at that building in the back…you may be seeing more of it SOON 😉 And how cute are my parents?! I really love this picture because this photo captures them so well. Their love is inspiring!

I LOVE my new mug I was gifted. I drink from it every morning on my commute! Kind is one of my favorite words!

One night I had an EXHAUSTING day – so my mom and I met up at Hickory and Oak for a local craft beer and the BEST lemon chicken pasta. Getting to hang out with my mom is on my list of “favorite things to do”. She always makes me feel so much better!
I screamed a little when I got home and noticed my merch came in from Rachael’s Good Eats! I have been following her workouts for over a year – since the beginning of quarantine 2020 & they are the only workouts I have ever looked forward to & that have transformed my body in the best way! These workouts have given me so much confidence! I used to NEVER wear shorts in public or show my arms or ANYTHING because I was so self-conscious. These workouts have CHANGED ME! I highly recommend!

So Friday was a BIG day – I signed my loan!!! This is the second time I have been excited to go into debt – the first was when we bought our home 🙂 I am VERY thankful for Mr. Scott Turner (or Money Bags Turner as I like to call him!) and everyone at First Southern Bank! AND my parents!!! I could not pursue my dreams without these incredible people. It pays to work hard, be kind to others, and surround your self with AMAZING people. Dang, God is so good.
Even though I got to sign my loan, the afternoon was a rough one! But luckily, it ended in pizza 🙂
I wrote this on my social media: during this whole “buying a business” process – one Bible verse has carried me though, “Consider it all JOY, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials” James 1:2. This verse couldn’t reflect more of where I am right now. I’m thankful God’s plan is far greater than my plan. I’m thankful that HE has gotten me this far. I’m thankful for the incredible love & support of the people He has placed around me. There may be trials and setbacks – but if He is for me, who can be against me?! ✨ I hope that when you encounter people who try to tear you down, crush your dreams, or stomp on your passion – you choose joy. You choose to fight the good fight. You choose to keep your eyes on HIM & His path for you. ❤️

I won’t mention any names, but there are already people out there ready to see me fail. But it ain’t going to happen! God has gotten me this far. I don’t plan on going anywhere – I just plan on following HIS path for me 🙂

And one last picture of my sweet Owen boy 🙂

ENJOY YOUR WEEKEND PRETTY PEOPLE!
