Happy Sunday!! This morning I was craving some french toast but wanted to keep it on the lighter side since a) I plan on working out later and b) I hate the feeling of being overly full! I used to LOVE french toast when I was a kid. It was definitely one of my favorites! I have always been a big breakfast food lover 🙂 This recipe was inspired by my favorite Claire P. Thomas!! She’s the best!!
Protein French Toast
-1 serving of any bread
-1/2 scoop favorite protein powder
-4 egg whites
-1/4 C almond milk
-splash of vanilla extract
Combine protein powder (I used 1st Phorm cinnamon cookie batter), egg whites, cinnamon, milk, and vanilla. Soak bread ( I sued a whole wheat 100 calorie english muffin) for 5 minutes. Heat pan on the stove or use Dash Mini Waffle Maker. Cook until browned, roughly 3-5 minutes. Top with Swerve powdered sugar, sugar free syrup, and whip cream! I also had turkey sausage on the side!
