Happy Sunday friends! I am hopping on the blog today to share what I got at the grocery store this week. I also thought it would be fun to share a smoothie recipe I made using some of the things I picked up.
I wanted to stock up on vegetables since the Dormition Fast begins this week on August 1st and goes to August 14th for Orthodox Christians. I also wanted to pick up some fermented foods to help my body get that healthy gut bacteria! I picked up Kimchi and Califa Farms new probiotic yogurt to try. I already had kombucha in my fridge at home too.
My grocery cart included:
- Organic Spinach
- Organic Arugula
- Organic Spring Mix
- Organic Brussels sprouts
- Organic Cucumber
- Organic Celery
- Organic Kale
- Baby Carrots
- Organic Pink Lady apples
- Organic cherry tomatoes
- Organic Strawberries
- Sweet potatoes
- Bananas
- Avocados
- Kimchi
- Lara Bars (Mint Chip, Almond Butter Chip, Hazelnut Chip)
- Probiotic Yogurt
- Unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk
- Banza Chickpea pasta
- Green pesto
- Green tea
- Nut pods Hazelnut creamer
After getting home from the grocery store – I laced up my shoes for a 3 mile walk around my neighborhood. When I got back I was a sweaty mess and threw some ingredients into the blender for a late-lunch smoothie.
Peachy Probiotic Smoothie:
- 3 C spinach
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1/2 C frozen peaches
- 2 tsp spirulina
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 C Califa Farms probiotic yogurt
- 1/2 C almond milk
- ice
Blend everything together and drink up!
I hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!
