Hey, you. Yes, you!
I know you might be having one of those days where you just don’t feel like you’re enough. And if you are not having one of those days, save this post for when you do because it happens to the best of us.
You are beautiful.
I am the queen of pointing out my flaws. My pimples, my thighs, my stomach, my eyebrows, my freckles, my feet, my toes, my brain, my whatever.
And if you’re human, you point out your flaws too. (Probably less frequently than I do though…)
You are beautiful.
This damn society we live in wants us to believe so many different things. We need to be thin but muscular and smart but not arrogant. But when do we get to take a breath?
When do we stop listening to society and start listening to God?
You are beautiful.
I usually have one of those “I hate myself, why are these jeans so snug” days about once a month (Yay, Mother Nature) and it usually hits me hard. There are tears, lots of tears. (I sound crazy…)
Then the next day, I am almost completely content in the body I have. But there is always that little voice in my head saying,”you should probably do more crunches,” and, “you should probably get your eyebrows waxed,” or ,”for Pete Sake, put down the M&Ms.”Well, what if I don’t want to do crunches? Because honestly, who does? What if I don’t want to get my eyebrows waxed and what if I don’t want to live a sad life without M&Ms?
I was having one of those days just a couple weeks ago. *Let me brag on my main man here for a second.* I had gone to the bathroom and was cleaning up some things around the house and when I walked into my room he was in there putting these post-it notes all over my mirror.
So I did what I always do–I cried.
I am lucky enough to have this blessing of a man in my life who does not just look at me and see what is on the outside. He sees me for what really makes me, me. And you should know there is someone out there right now that you are already with or have not met yet who sees you for YOU and absolutely adores you.
You are beautiful.
I am only human and you are only human. So let’s stop trying to be so perfect all the time, that’s God’s job. And hey, if He’s perfect and He made you well, you probably aren’t so bad after all 🙂
Let me tell you something, YOU are ENOUGH.
YOU are LOVED.
YOU are WORTHY.
YOU are SMART.
YOU are CAPABLE.
YOU are BEAUTIFUL.
And when someone gives you a compliment, it’s okay to say, “Thank you.” You don’t have to brush of their compliment and tell yourself they are “just saying that,” you should ACCEPT IT. They wouldn’t be giving you a compliment if they didn’t believe it themselves.
